Down In The Blue
03:20
|
|||
Verse 1
I see our window that would show no light,
cause its covered in decals and tin foil.
You used to tell me that it looked just fine
and it helped us to find our way home.
Verse 2
The rusty stairs led right up to the sky
where I danced in the clouds with you.
I didn’t know that we could run out of time
and now I’m full face down in the blue.
Verse 3:
People said it was a tragedy
cause you tried so hard to defeat it.
But The Whispers got ya feeling so sad
and that feeling it just wouldn’t do.
Verse 4:
Walking out with your wayfarer’s on
you swore you’d be back in an hour.
But I never got to see you again
because you slipped deep down in the blue.
Verse 5
I was 14 when you took all the light
that I never new could be taken.
I still love you with all of my heart
except for the times when I hate ya.
Verse 6:
We used to dance in that ragged apartment
with the shag rug snagging our shoes
we used to laugh like a couple of demons
till we got knocked down in the blue.

Escalade
05:02
|
|||
Verse 1:
you know I want a revolution baby.
One that will finally make us see.
How heartless that we really are baby.
But there’s a door in front of me.
Verse 2
You know I’d like to join the movement baby.
From the bottom of my heart.
But my soul is deeply shattered lately
so I just don’t get too far.
Chorus
I would like to go outside,
as long as no one gets too close to see
this unnatural craving to breath the air around me.
I would like to take a ride,
cruising down town in my Escalade
with my 5k Jesus stickers on the back to announce, my arrival.
Verse 3:
You know I’d really like to help you baby.
But I can’t even help myself.
Always something in the oven lately,
but I got nothing on my shelves.
Verse 4:
I gotta get off the phone now baby.
I got so many things I’m not gonna do.
It’s really disappointing being this way baby.
Can’t find the laces for my shoes.
Chorus
I would like to go outside,
as long as no one gets too close to see
this unnatural craving to breath the air around me.
I would like to take a ride,
cruising down town in my Escalade
with my 5k Jesus stickers on the back to announce, my arrival.
to announce, my denial.

Accidental Lies
06:08
|
|||
Verse 1
This is how she walks into the room.
Both feet on the floor and no perfume.
Every breath she takes a smile will bloom.
And she is coming home with me.
Verse 2
Watch her as she waves to everyone.
Takes the time to talk until they’re done.
Introducing her to both his sons.
But she is coming home with me.
Chorus
Lies, accidental lies,
the kind that must stay hidden.
She keeps from everyone.
She tries, amazing how she flies,
she sets their hearts a blazing.
With hope she cannot share.
Verse 3:
This is what she says without a word.
Just be hind her eyes a wounded bird.
Lending her a smile when she’s unnerved.
And she is coming home with me.
SOLO
Chorus
Verse 1
This is how she feels when we’re alone.
Worrying all about the great unknown.
Whispering a song into her phone.
And she is staying home with me
She is staying home with me

Fine
05:50
|
|||
Chorus
I feel fine, maybe just a little thin.
I unwind, then I put it all back again.
Cross the line, then I just start to pretend.
There’s no sign, to tell me when I reach the end.
Verse 1
Nobody seems to even see me.
I’m just barely hanging in the air.
That’s just the way I want it to be.
Right now I’m owning my despair.
Chorus
Verse 2
Swimming down beneath the feathers
in the saftey of my bed.
Rying to sleep away the lectures
from the history in my head.
Chorus
Verse 3:
Really Nothing much the matter.
Everything’s so dull and grey. I got no pain but I can’t gather,
these threads a keeping me in place.

Fish Cat Dog Woman Man
02:51
|
|||
Verse 1
The fish is swimming in borrowed water
in a glass town house on a smooth flood plain.
The fish is thinking that Netflix is grand,
nothing’s trying to eat him what a joyful land
Verse 2
The cat is plotting to rule the world
but that gets rather boring so he screams for food.
The humans are slow and barely trainable,
but eventually they follow commands.
FILL
Verse 3:
The dog is laying out in the sun,
eyes half open so the squirrels won’t come.
Waiting with patience for 4pm
when they fill the bowls then he’ll sleep again.
Verse 3:
The man is lying upon the couch.
The cat is screaming and the dogs passed out.
The fish is waiting for season five,
but it can’t push the button so it starts to cry.
Verse 4:
The woman is whirling around this mess
as the sleepy man comments on her dress.
She presses the button and lays on the couch,
and the fish is happy as the lights go out.
Chorus
Fish cat dog woman man, I’m a genius
Only ‘bout a half a dozen fleas in between us.
Can’t believe it took so long to figure this out.
Fish cat dog woman man.

Fading Away
06:07
|
|||
Chorus I V1 F V2 C S V3 C C S
I’m fading away, fading away.
Just like before, rain on my face.
Oh I’ll be back, this much I can say.
But until then, I’m fading away.
Verse 1:
All the rainbow dreams and songs I sing
They’re gonna have to do without me for a little while.
Cause when that old hard cold starts creeping in
Ya know its gonna bury me in style.
Chorus
Verse 2
Simple words of kindness.
Don’t seem to break through to me.
But somewhere in that darkness,
I feel the love you bring.
Chorus
SOLO
Verse 3:
So save me a seat at the table
eventually it will all fall away.
And when I’m back we’re gonna roll on again.
But until then I’m just fading away.
Chorus

Ophelia
04:59
|
|||
Verse 1
Ophelia, when you were young your love shown like a thousand suns.
But know its gone, your fathers, fathers lies have had their way.
Ophelia, how can you say the words and sing the Sunday songs?
Your twisted psalm and higher born you claim it marks your fate.
Chorus
When you dance everybody wants you.
When you speak half will turn away.
When You cry no one really listens
When you hate its your glorious day.
Verse 2
Ophelia the light that used to guide you looks so very small.
A broken wall, that never seems to keep the wolves at bay.
Ophelia, how can you judge another from your laden throne.
Your slide trombone, announces that your guns are on display.
Chorus
Whisper down, into the canyon.
Ramble on about the deepest state.
Coil your hair around your bitter fingers
lightning strikes as you hide your face.
Solo
Verse 3:
Ophelia, deception is a stone you throw at everyone.
You think it’s fun. You never look beyond another’s pain.
Ophelia, you look upon the rabble with your lips pulled thin.
To hell with them. No one really hears a word they say.
You’ve shed your skin, basking in your clover holiday.
